"New Year" is a R&B song performed by English girl group the Sugababes. It was written by Sugababes members Siobhán Donaghy, Mutya Buena and Keisha Buchanan; as well as Jony Lipsey, Cameron McVey, Felix Howard, Matt Rowe and Paul Simm for their debut studio album One Touch. It was co-produced by Lipsey, McVey and Simm. The song was released as the album's second single in the winter of 2000 and charted within the top twenty of the UK Singles Chart and the top thirty of the Irish Singles Chart. However, the single failed to chart anywhere else.

Music video

The music video for "New Year" was directed by Alex Hamming and filmed in London, England. The video, like their previous video for "Overload", does not have a plot and features the group singing in front of a white background. Throughout the video, various computer graphics including falling snow, letters and butterflies appear on the screen, as well as shades of pink and blue.
